Summary
This Manual is based on research conducted by La Strada Czech Republic in the time period 2006-2008. The objective of that research was to examine and implement a model of employment of victims of trafficking in human beings and commercial exploitation, and by doing so to increase their social inclusion. The aims of the project were defined with respect to the Czech National strategy of fight against trafficking in human beings and National action plan on social inclusion. One of the main priorities of these two documents is to increase social inclusion and employment of commercially exploited and trafficked persons. Both target groups have in common an experience with commercial exploitation in various labour sectors, including sex business, and with a life in an environment of social exclusion. As a result they have to face disadvantages in entering the labour market and in their ability to keep themselves on it. The Manual consists of three related and chronologically ordered parts. The first part presents experiences of people directly involved in field work and emphasises the importance of preventive measures and access to information. The second part describes the methods of social work used in order to provide the target groups with necessary social assistance. Third part of the manual emphasises the importance of labour councelling that should be available for trafficked and exploited persons in order for them to find a new secure place on a labour market.
