Summary
The convention of the rights of the child consists of 54 articles, all dedicated to the protection of childrens rights. The convention was put in to force in September 1990. Among other things the convention binds states to take responsibility for the well being of children living under the country's law as well as it secures every childs right to a name, nationality and safe childhood. Up until this day the convention has been ratified by 193 countries.
