- Summary
- • EU-MIDIS is the first EU-wide survey to specifically interview a predominantly random sample of immigrant and ethnic minority groups using a standardised questionnaire. • The survey's main part asked respondents about their experiences of discrimination on the basis of their immigrant or ethnic minority background, their experiences of criminal victimisation (including racially motivated crime), and experiences of policing: the results of which are summarised here. • The survey also asked respondents about their awareness of their rights and the extent to which they reported experiences of discrimination and victimisation, including reasons for non-reporting. • The survey also interviewed 5,000 people from the majority population in 10 Member States in order to compare the survey's findings on experiences of police stops and border control. Section 4 in the main results report outlines the findings.
