- Summary
Initially, the study intended to investigate the presence ofchild trafficking and its links with child sex tourism and the commercialsexual exploitation of children. In brief, the study found relatively littletrafficking of children into commercial sexual exploitation, as opposed tochildren entering CSEC from intermediate situations, such as domestic serviceor other labour, marriage, or proximity to opportunities for prostitution, suchas military installations or tourist sites. The study found a high incidence ofsexual abuse in the homes and communities of children, both boys and girls, andclear linkages between ‘domestic’ sexual abuse and children’s entry intocommercial sexual exploitation.
