- This report reviews the current knowledgebase on trafficking for sexual exploitation to and within Europe, giving an overview of and insight into the main trends in research in this field. Each chapter presents and discusses a primary theme in the trafficking research: the definition and use of the trafficking concept; methods for data-collection and analysis; perspectives on and explanations of human trafficking; and challenges and knowledge needs in designing counter-trafficking measures. The report offers a comprehensive introduction to, and critical assessment of, the knowledge base within the field of human trafficking, and is aimed at policymakers, students, researchers, and other engaged actors in this field.
