- Instead of focusing on those trafficked, this report turnd the spotlight on the trafficker. It features an examination of a number of personal characteristics such as age, socio-economic demographic, country of origin, gender, occupation prior to trafficking, criminal history and more. A special section highlights female traffickers and finds, not surprisingly, that many were trafficked themselves yet never received appropriate rehabilitation. The report aims to deepen knowledge and stimulate public debate on trafficking in persons and its implications, and to highlight methodologies for combating this distressing phenomenon
