- Summary
- In June 2007, the Council of Europe adopted a Resolution on the image of women in advertising. In its statement, the Council of Europe concludes that in advertising, women are often presented in situations that are humiliating and degrading, or even violent and offensive to human dignity. Moreover, by presenting slim women as beauty idols, advertising can cause serious damage to the health of young girls. The Council of Europe recommends all Member States to conduct an in-de advertising and to prepare for a European Code of Conduct.
