- Summary
- The Animus/La Strada team has been working in support of the victims of trafficking for years, published dozens of articles and taken part in dozens of radio and television programmes. In this brochure we will try once again to share our experiences from the contact with pain and despair and these women's struggle for survival. We have collected articles by people with different professions - psychologists, psychotherapists, Help-line volunteers, journalists, lawyers. For different reasons, they have all talked to women survivors of trafficking and have not been able to remain indifferent. They have put in words all that the victims could not tell another person. It is from these articles that we can understand the experiences of the women in trafficking. Everything they have written on trafficking, the authors learnt from the women themselves in a situation of trust and safety. Only then could these women summon the courage to talk about the violence and humiliation they had suffered. We are grateful to all the authors of these articles who decided to share their experiences in the work with women survivors of trafficking. Their feelings - excitement, worry, and often helplessness and despair, can tell us a lot about the extent of the human tragedy of the survivors. No matter how sad the brochure might be in some places, the professional attitude and competence of the authors give us reassurance and hope. They are proof that there are people who are involved with the theme of trafficking in women and are ready to work in support of the victims. 1.
