La Strada International and its Members provided input on the planned EU Strategy towards the Eradication of Trafficking in Human Beings
The input highlighted a lack of access to compensation across the EU Member States for victims despite it being an established right.
It noted that there was increased difficulty in receiving compensation in cross-border cases and issues in accessing compensation due to lack of information.
It called for access to information and free legal aid, an EU compensation fund and a uniform approach to determining the compensation amount.
