Summary
The ‘London Evening Standard' reports that almost 200 women are being unlawfully detained in immigration centres whereas they are victims of trafficking. The article cites the story of a woman who was trafficked from Nigeria at age 14 for sexual exploitation. Although she escaped she was later detained for several months before her church assisted her with a lawyer. The Poppy Project is now launching a campaign to call on the Government to stop detaining trafficking victims.
