Summary
Undocumented immigrants have a marginalized position in our society. They cannot speak up for themselves. Since they have no permission to stay in the host country and live in permanent fear of being reported to the authorities, they will not easily report complaints and problems they experienced when claiming their right to health care. Undocumented women are supposed to be even more marginalized. Since they often live in dependence of male partners or employers it is even more difficult for them to speak up. In order to guarantee the right to health care, undocumented women should be given a clear and loud voice. That is the main relevance of our study.
