Summary
In the last ten years there have been numerous initiatives to combat human trafficking at international and national level. These activities, however, focused on measures to combat the area of human trafficking for sexual exploitation. For about five years now, the topic of human trafficking for labour exploitation (TH/LE) has been treated more intensively. In the course of this study on behalf of the Berlin Alliance against Human Trafficking (BBGM):
- available knowledge on TH/LE was collected and systematised;
- in qualitative interviews (possible) cases of TH/LE in Berlin and Brandenburg were described and analysed;
- a method was developed to estimate the extent of TH/LE, and the possibilities of its implementation with available data was assessed.
